| The
lesson plan derives from a collaboration of my professional
graphic designer presentation experience, serving the needs
of a diverse group of presenters such as: engineers, scientist,
educators, administrators, and students; furthermore, they
are my reason and resources for producing this learning material.
In review of this, I have discovered many presenters do not
know the Key Concepts for PowerPoint® existence, therefore
presenters are not using PowerPoint® software to its full
value. For this reason, I present a lesson plan that will
explain and illustrate an understanding for PowerPoint®
existence or the ability to apply new skills to existing skills
so partakers or presenters can create an effective Presentation.
Preceding
presenters' behaviors exhibit as:
Presenter
works without a Slide Master. Therefore, works without a Blank Slide then drops in a Text Box to add text. A Consistent look may
not follow.
Presenter scales down pictures, applies many pictures, or
uses both; and, inserts unknown picture formats. Therefore,
makes for oversized files and possible image defects because
images are not formatted or/and save out correctly.
Presenter
uses uncommon font styles or many font styles. Therefore,
fonts project or print distorted because Universal fonts
are not present.
Presenter
imports several different shows making for one new show.
Therefore, several different master formats are present
because slides are not reformatted.
Presenter
presents, prints, or shares (by email or different computer)
a presentation that crashes or does not open for the sightseer.
Perhaps above tasks are not considered. Moreover, the server
provider may have a size limit on email attachments.
Given
that I have executed hundreds of presentations, the order
of this lesson reflects events or a list of procedures that
I act upon to execute the creation of a PowerPoint® presentation.
Presentation Template or Slide Master Format creation is completed
first, so additional slides will follow format immediately
– no last minute formatting or minimal changes. Whereas,
text tweaks are done outside the Slide Master or in Slide
View mode so adjustments do not affect all slides. Mid-way
into the lesson illustrates, Image Characteristics plus how
to Format Picture and Image Resample, after how to Insert
Picture. Since, most images are alongside text and may mimic
text to implement a higher understanding of the learning material;
it is helpful to have both resources presented to formulate
accurate material. Since, revisions take place throughout
most of the creation, presentation Wrap-Up tasks are discussed
last. Issues illustrated here makeup pieces of the creation
of a presentation; for example, the lesson discusses helpful
ways on how to achieve context consistency especially due
to revisions, on the other hand, some rules may not apply
to all partakers. These points seem right illustrated last
to avoid unnecessary time spent discussing and/or organizing
a presentation.
PowerPoint®
software by way of internet and PowerPoint® software is
ideal as the lesson demonstrates tasks to gain a new meaningful
experience on how to successfully communicate or design a
PowerPoint® presentation. Even though the learning material
is design for introductory level learning, advanced PowerPoint®
skills are applied to instructions. Perhaps this will motivate
the learner to pursue future lessons. In addition, lesson
material offers partakers to work at one’s own pace.
Chosen design enhancements are created to accommodate student
individual learning styles as the partakers are from several
domains.
Assessments
are helpful by way of lesson projects and questionnaires;
I can coach students to their best interest and help them
achieve their goals and provide reassurance that lesson mastery
has been achieved. In addition, questions are encouraged throughout
this experience plus questions and feedback will exist at
Lesson’s webpage for peer mediation and learning.
